Karla Alcantar
Karla’s journey with yoga began in high school, and though it was years before she established a consistent practice, the sense of calm and groundedness she experienced in her first savasana left a vivid and lasting impact. Initially she was drawn to the physical aspects of yoga, but it wasn’t long before she discovered a deeper connection—one that sparked a sense of gratitude, compassion, and freedom. This awakening led Karla to her first teacher training. Although it wasn’t initially her intention to teach, she felt called to share these transformative practices and offer others the opportunity to experience greater presence and embodiment.
Karla completed her 200-hour training at Love Story Yoga in 2017 and furthered her education with a Mindful Teacher Certification through Mindful Schools in 2021 and an Accessible Yoga Training in 2022. She is currently deepening her practice with a 300-hour training with Jason Crandell. In addition, Karla holds a credential and Master’s degree in Special Education focusing on teaching students with physical and health impairments.
As a teacher, Karla creates a warm, inclusive space where students can practice tuning in to and honoring their bodies while cultivating strength, stillness, and presence.
