Deepen your yoga inversion practice with functional alignment and the ELDOA Method!
When done correctly, yoga inversions—such as supported handstand, headstand, and shoulder stand—can reset the nervous system into a restorative response, creating quiet stillness, which aids in lymphatic detoxification, decompressing the spine, and shifting your perspective.
With the refined expertise of Mel Salvatore-August (a 20-year veteran yoga teacher trainer) and Paola (international ELDOA trainer), you will build strength, awareness, spinal spaciousness, and deep peace.
This workshop will include: discussion, movement, breathwork, restoratives, and meditation.
*This workshop qualifies for Yoga Alliance CE credit for yoga teachers.
ELDOA is a method of movements designed to help decompress the spine in various places through 60-second holds, helping to release fascia and contribute to more space in the joints. The acronym stands for Étirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptation Ostéo Articulaire (which is French for Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation). ELDOA was created by French osteopath Dr. Guy Voyer.
Core Mechanisms
Decoaptation: Uses active, precise body positioning to pull joint surfaces apart, reducing local compression forces.
Fascial Engagement: Relies on global myofascial chains and extreme end-range muscle tension rather than passive stretching.
Self-Normalization: Empowers individuals to perform specific self-treatment postures to address exact spinal levels or peripheral joints (hips, shoulders, ribs)
